The unanimous approval follows the previous unanimous vote in the Senate.
Legislation passed unanimously in the House would force the declassification of all information President Biden’s administration has gathered relative to the origins of the COVID-19 virus.
The COVID Origins Act, with a unanimous vote Friday, followed the unanimous passage by the Senate on March 1. It now moves to the desk of the president for his signature, although he has not given any indication whether he would veto the legislation.
Under the bill, the director of national intelligence is required to declassify all information it has on possible links between the source of the virus and the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.
Representative August Pfluger of Texas, who was a former director of the National Institutes of Health, said that government bureaucrats “abused their positions of power to disguise and distort the facts and a further tyrannical approach to our country.“
Congressman Pfluger added that the then-director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, “knew as early as March 2020 that coronavirus leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China. He spent the next three years dodging, misleading, mischaracterizing the possibility and even using American taxpayer dollars to pay for studies to discredit that very thing.”
